With databases holding such a big part in society today, just what manner of work is available which relates to them? - For those of us who need to sometimes work or live away part of the time, think of the now-increased trouble of travelling to the requisite workshops, when time-off becomes even harder to obtain.

Wouldn't it be better to watch on-screen and be taught by instructors one-on-one through filmed lessons, studying them at a time that's convenient for you and you alone. Whenever you get stuck, logon to the 24x7 support facility (that we hope you'll insist on with any technical courses.) Don't forget, if you have a laptop, you can study wherever you want. You'll never have to write notes again - everything is prepared in advance for you. Any time you want to repeat something, it's right there. The result: Reduced hassle, money saved, and you've got no travelling to do.

Accredited exam simulation and preparation packages are essential - and absolutely ought to be supplied by your training company. Sometimes people can get confused by trying to prepare themselves with questions that aren't from official boards. Often, the phraseology can be quite different and you need to be ready for this. In an ideal situation, you'd get ALL the training materials right at the beginning - giving you them all for the future to come back to - as and when you want. This allows a variation in the order that you attack each section if another more intuitive route presents itself.

All programs you're considering has to build towards a nationally (or globally) recognised exam at the end - and not some unimportant 'in-house' piece of paper. All the major commercial players such as Microsoft, CompTIA, Adobe or Cisco have globally approved proficiency programs. These big-hitters will make sure you're employable.
